Summer & Seasonal Camps

Whether you are just beginning your basketball journey, or are moving steadily in the direction of competing at the highest levels, we look forward to working with you.

Our typical schedule is anywhere from 2-5 days, 6 hours per day, usually 9 am to 3pm, with players broken up by age and ability, using tailored but specific High Intensity Basketball Training drills, to teach specific skills, with some informal, interactive supervised scrimmaging, with positive feedback, as a necessary part of that process.

All delivered with a cutting edge and ever-evolving personal development and empowerment approach that engages you just right.

Team Clinics

Our team clinics, are geared toward working with an individual team or group of teams within a school or program, that are of similar or comparable level, usually male or female only (although co-ed options exist) and are also focused on working with the individual players on the team or teams.  They are a phenomenal opportunity to grow by:

  • Pushing players out of their comfort zone as developing players and as developing people
  • Identifying and honing in on their specific strengths and weaknesses
  • Heavily focusing in on what the most important things they most need to improve on, individually and as team
  • Appropriately challenging them at their level:  skills-wise, conditioning-wise, court-sense, and game situation execution wise
  • The often-overlooked, but every-so-important skill of “building each other up” and making your teammates better

So, get better now, as a team, and as an individual player.

Through specific (HIBT) High Intensity Basketball Training drills, to teach specific skills, with some informal supervised scrimmaging, with positive, but specific feedback, as a necessary part of that process, all delivered with a cutting edge and ever-evolving personal development and empowerment approach.

There are a number of modules and training focuses to choose from, with the opportunity to connect with us to come up with a tailored program, that can really help you get closer to where you want to be.

Group Clinics

Our Group Clinics are similar to our team clinics but are usually geared toward a wider range of ability and age levels, they are often co-ed, usually within a local community, unless they are opened to general enrollment.

In group clinics, we are working in a particular group setting, where multiple age levels and abilities are involved – divided up by age and ability most of the time. Such a setting opens the door to even more opportunities for growth as players and people. Improved interaction with siblings, parents, fellow kids, and others as a whole, are certainly a part of that opportunity for improvement.

More specifically, Group Clinics are a fantastic opportunity to grow by:

  • Pushing players out of their comfort zone
  • Identifying and honing in on their specific strengths and weaknesses, and heavily focusing in on what the most important things they most need to improve on, individually and within specific groups
  • Appropriately challenging them at their level:  skills-wise, conditioning-wise, court-sense, and game situation execution wise
  • The often-overlooked, but ever-so-important skill of “building each other up”and making you’re your siblings better, being more supportive to family, and certainly making one’s team mates better

Individual Instruction

As a service to you, Coach Gil is offering incredible training rates, and packages, far less than what you would pay for other top trainers,  who do not possess his unique 26 year history and life experience as a player, coach and personal instructor.

Prior to the first training session:

As part of my preparation for your initial training session, I will learn from you what your training goals are, your current level of experience, and any specific playing or personal challenges you may be facing, as well as what you think your most obvious strengths and weaknesses are.   As desired, I will also consult with anyone else, whether that be your parents or coaches, or teammates, or spouse) to further learn about how I can best help you – right now.

If game tape is available, or there are upcoming games that you believe I should observe and take note of, whether these be official games or pickup games, I will also attend and study these for a separate nominal fee. If at all possible, it is highly recommended that I do this study and observation prior to our first session.

The First and subsequent training sessions:

Commensurate with your ability, knowledge and conditioning levels, I will have you demonstrate various fundamental techniques, execute effective drills requiring a combination of skills that will help expose your strengths and  weaknesses, and show examples of good court sense and etiquette based on various game situations based on various game situations.

Based on my astute observations, I will then focus hard and heavy on the top one or two areas that will give you the most improvement – NOW – with some attention also paid to general skill improvement, and we will adjust the training focus, as needed in future sessions.

If so desired – and this is HIGHLY recommended, by the way – a video clip of the training sessions should also be shot by your coach, parent, spouse, or a friend.  (we can also hire someone else to do this – but usually a friend is sufficient) This can and should be used for future reference, and as a means of self-evaluation which is an invaluable part of getting the most out of your training.    We have several sample clips on the web site for you to look at. You need to come ready – well nourished, rested, and hydrated, and dressed appropriately for intense basketball instruction.

Follow up and in between sessions:

Unless you are doing multiple sessions in the same week, the vast majority of your practice time is going to be outside of our individual training sessions.    With that being said, “hoop”work (homework for basketball) assignments will be given.  This will include actual physical practice on your own, pickup and scrimmage game assignments against bigger and better players, as well as studying recommended videos and training materials, to complement your training.   It will also include follow up emails and correspondence from me, and should include review of any video clips that were shot during your training sessions.
